Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a therapist, I believe that culture, religion, and identities are not just background details, they are central to how we make sense of who we are, our lives, our relationships, and our struggles.

It’s a privilege to walk alongside people from many different cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds and I continue to learn and grow from each connection. I understand how deeply our upbringing, traditions, and community values can shape the way we experience mental health. Whether you’re navigating the tensions between different parts of your identity, facing generational or cultural expectations, or dealing with the emotional impact of discrimination, you’re not alone and therapy can offer support.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully seen, not just as a person in pain, but as a whole person with a unique story.

In our work together, I am committed to:

  • Respecting and affirming your religious and spiritual beliefs, whatever they may be
  • Exploring how cultural values and practices influence your emotional world and relationships
  • Addressing the impact of racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, or other forms of cultural and religious bias
  • Offering a non-judgmental space to talk about things that may feel taboo or difficult within your community
  • Listening with humility and openness, especially when your worldview differs from my own

If you’ve ever felt like you had to leave parts of yourself outside the rooms, i.e., your accent, your attire, your beliefs, your questions, I want you to know that you don’t have to do that here.

I seek to understand you story! Therapy with me is not about stripping away your cultural or religious identity; it’s about supporting you as you move through life with that identity fully intact.

It’s okay to take your time — a free consultation can help you decide if therapy feels right.
